Project Whitecard to create content for GENEEnetwork.com March 05, 2010 Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada – February 23rd, 2010Lacking a clear marketplace for so-called "serious" games and science content, Winnipeg's Project Whitecard Inc. will create interactive games and lend it's space sciences experience to a new Canadian portal and production business GENEEnetwork.com. ("Global Electronic Network for Enhanced Entertainment") Khal Shariff's company, Project Whitecard Inc., is best known for winning the NASA Massively Online game project and creating a Canadian-Astronaut-Julie-Payette-themed software which landed in over 45,000 schools. Khal sees the GENEEnetwork opportunity as a much-needed portal to establish a marketplace and better selection for the typical Canadian parent. "Believe me," there's not a lot out there for kids between the ages of 6 and 11. "but with the GENEEnetwork, like-minded creators of content that focuses on science and education will finally have a centralized online and television portal in which to distribute their mini-masterpieces. In recent months Project Whitecard has been working with Virtual Heroes and WisdomTools in America to create a NASA-themed "serious game" which delivers science content through state-of-the-art video game technologies, and at the same time has been developing "Astronaut" a space-technology themed television show with partners in the United Kingdom, Florida, and France. Ostensibly, this game and television show will reach over 20 million students on the GENEE network. "It was clear from the get-go that in order to have the kind of distribution we need world-wide to create a sustainable market for these kinds of games, we would need a forward-thinking group of partners, and the GENEEnetwork is it. Winning the NASA project last year opened a lot of doors, and there are people involved in the GENEEnetwork in the UK, France, Canada, and the United States. The Canadian Space Agency leadership that landed mathematics software on the desks of over 1 million kids last year was incredible, and we're inspired by that experience." Mr. Shariff will next be traveling to Futurallia in France this April, where he has been invited to meet even more like-minded companies, and establish a joint-venture between Canada and France in historical virtual reality.
